Archbishop McNicholas High School has an active volunteer network of parents, friends, and supporters of the school and its mission. The following guidelines should be followed by volunteers when assisting the school administrative staff in organizing and implementing activities and events:
Scheduling of any and all events on the school calendar should be cleared with Susan Rohlfs 231-3500 (ext. 5142). Susan is responsible for scheduling on the internal master school calendar. The event or activity must also be approved by the respective staff member responsible. Key areas include:
o Fundraising (car washes, solicitations, or any activity that generates money or asks for gifts-in-kind) – Development – Dave Jackson (ext. 5817)
o Sport meetings/events (Boosters, team meals and any other similar or related athletic event) – Athletics - Rob Heise (ext. 5807) or Susan Rolhfs ( ext. 5142)
o Alumni Events (reunions, sports leagues, lunches, girls night out, etc.) – Alumni Relations – Shawn Young (ext. 5850)
o Student-related and other events (graduation, military memorial, award ceremonies, assemblies, etc.) – Principal/Assistant – Dave Mueller (ext. 5800)/Pat Farwick ( ext. 5803).
With regard to fundraising, all solicitations for donations of any kind, or monies to be collected must receive prior approval from the Development Office early in the planning stages before the event or activity can commence. This policy ensures that the school presents a coordinated fundraising effort overall, and minimizes multiple and frequent requests from the same donors.
All requests for support with advertising, marketing/branding, and communications related to any event should be channeled through Communications & Marketing – Shannon Kapp (ext. 5125). It is advisable to include the respective staff member who is responsible, and from whom authorization has been given to hold the event, in all communications.
