Class of 2024 completes 11,158 hours of Christian service

53 seniors were recognized as members of the Century Club for completing over 100 hours of Christian service throughout their four years, making up 8,645 hours of the total amount completed by the Class of 2024.  

They have practiced compassionate leadership within a wide range of organizations where they explored their individual passions and made a real difference within our community.  

Their dedication has empowered the mission of ministries like St. Vincent de Paul, Catholic Charities, and Su Casa Hispanic Ministries. They have served in our backyard by feeding the hungry at the SEM Food Pantry and as tutors at Mt. Washington Elementary and Sands Montessori. They have served through their parishes/churches at St. Bernadette fish fries, St. Veronica and St. Thomas More festivals, through PRP and football camps at IHM, and Camp Gaudeo at Guardian Angels.

The Class of 2024 has served at McNick as ambassadors, through cheer and volleyball and science camps. Some have answered God's call to serve in Tennessee and New Mexico and even Peru. They have practiced the corporal works of mercy by welcoming the stranger at Bethany House Services and caring for the sick at Cincinnati Children's Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House. They have built a culture of welcome and inclusion through May We Help, danced with elders at the SEM Haven Senior Prom, and honored those that come before us through their stewardship at cemeteries.

“Although the pandemic removed some of the typical ‘on-ramps’ to serving and presented some challenges in encountering others through service during their freshmen year, this group has risen to the challenge (as Rockets do) to put our faith and our love into action,” said theology teacher and Mission and Ministry Co-Director Mr. Jeff Hutchinson-Smyth.
