Seniors recognized by National Merit Scholarship Corporation

Three members of the senior class have been recognized by the National Merit® Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) program as Commended Students: Grace Fechtel, Remington Holder, and Mary Metzger.

Principal Bob Noll said, “I am excited for and proud of Grace, Remy, and Mary. We are grateful for their hard work, in collaboration with the support of their teachers and mentors, and are proud that their gifts and efforts are being celebrated in such a prestigious manner.”

NMSC identifies and honors academically talented U.S. high school students and encourages them to pursue rigorous college studies.

“Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success,” commented a spokesperson for NMSC. “These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation. Where Art Comes Alive: McNicholas Students Explore Italy, France, and Belgium

Some of life's greatest lessons cannot be found in a textbook. They are discovered standing beneath the ancient arches of the Colosseum, gazing up at masterpieces in Vatican City, or watching the sun set along the Seine River. This spring, 43 McNicholas students experienced those moments firsthand, returning home with a deeper appreciation for art, history, culture, and the world around them.

A Friendship Without Borders: McNicholas Celebrates Its First Sister School Exchange with Argentina

Nine McNicholas students traveled to Buenos Aires this summer for the school's first Sister School Exchange with Instituto Nuestra Señora de Las Nieves, building on friendships formed when Argentine students visited McNicholas earlier this year. Through living with host families, attending classes, and experiencing Argentina's rich culture and history, students discovered that the most meaningful lessons come from stepping beyond their comfort zones and embracing connections that transcend borders.
