Rockets celebrate National Foreign Language Week

The World Languages Department celebrated National Foreign Language Week with fun, food, and “Fallas.”

Activities included prayer in different languages, a scavenger hunt and Kahoot during CREW, international lunches in the café, and food trucks in the courtyard. World language classes made an "Ojos de Dios" craft from Mexico, created “Fallas" from Valencia, and worked on a Greek a temple building project.

World Languages Department Chair, Mr. Paul Romolo, said, “The week’s theme, ‘Celebrate Humanity Through Languages,’ is at the core of all we do in the World Languages Department. We consistently strive to teach students that people around the world are both unique and similar. We share the same humanity and should love, respect, and celebrate what connects us as well as what makes us special.”

McNicholas High School proudly celebrates the Academic Top Ten of the Class of 2026, recognizing students who have demonstrated exceptional achievement in the classroom while making a lasting impact on the school community through leadership, service, and involvement.

Class of 2026 Shines at Arts Signing Day

Yesterday, we celebrated our talented arts students during Arts Signing Day. The Class of 2026 includes seven students earning the Ohio Arts Honor Diploma, twelve students who studied art all four years at McNicholas, and nine students who will continue their education in an arts-related field. Congratulations to these talented young people!

Jolene Esz Named AACC Teacher of the Year

For Jolene Esz, teaching has never been just a job. It is a calling rooted in community, service, and a deep commitment to helping students grow. This year, that dedication was recognized in a meaningful way as she was named Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Year.
