McNicholas theatre showcases solidarity with All Together Now!

The McNicholas Theatre Department performed Music Theatre International’s All Together Now! to sold-out audiences on November 12-14.

This brand new musical revue, which featured songs from Rent, Annie, Newsies, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Little Women, Mamma Mia!, and many more, was part of a world-wide event celebrating theatre.

Theatres across the globe performed the same show on the same weekend as act of solidarity after COVID-19 caused many performances to be canceled and many theatres to temporarily close their doors. Theatre Director Teresa De Zarn said, “It was exciting to join in this amazing act of solidarity with our theater families everywhere.”

Muscial Theatre International sponsored the event, distributing all rights and music to each theatre free of charge, allowing McNicholas to use all proceeds from the production to benefit the theatre program.  “It was a huge success,” Ms. De Zarn said. “We hope to put the proceeds toward new microphones so that we can fur-ther showcase the talents of our students.” 

Ms. DeZarn added, “I want to thank the students, parents, and all the members of our theatre family who worked to make this production such a success. It truly was a group effort! It was especially heartwarming to see how well the students took care of and supported each other.”
