McNicholas celebrates 10 years of Gifts for Hope

McNicholas students donated and packed over 100 gift boxes to be shared with local teens through Hope Emergency. This is the tenth year of partnership with Hope Emergency to help make Christmas brighter for our neighbors.  

Organized through CREWs, Gifts for Hope are specially designed with teenagers in mind to bring a little extra joy to their holiday season. Students worked in their CREWs to create boxes filled with personal care items, candy, toys, socks, gloves, and other stocking stuffers.  

“We are grateful for our relationship with the Hope Emergency Center of Brown County. Our students' efforts in this year's Gifts for Hope campaign will help make Christmas a little brighter for 135 teenagers. Thank you to everyone who supported this important act of charity,” said Mr. Todd Naumann, Student Culture Coordinator.     

We are especially proud of the freshmen in Mrs. Combs CREW who worked together to donate 16 boxes worth of supplies for the project and to Mr. Wirth’s Flight 513 who completed 34 boxes! Thank you to everyone at McNicholas who generously donated to Gifts for Hope this year.

    Some of life's greatest lessons cannot be found in a textbook. They are discovered standing beneath the ancient arches of the Colosseum, gazing up at masterpieces in Vatican City, or watching the sun set along the Seine River. This spring, 43 McNicholas students experienced those moments firsthand, returning home with a deeper appreciation for art, history, culture, and the world around them.

    Nine McNicholas students traveled to Buenos Aires this summer for the school's first Sister School Exchange with Instituto Nuestra Señora de Las Nieves, building on friendships formed when Argentine students visited McNicholas earlier this year. Through living with host families, attending classes, and experiencing Argentina's rich culture and history, students discovered that the most meaningful lessons come from stepping beyond their comfort zones and embracing connections that transcend borders.
