Coach Orlando honored by Cincinnati Bengals

Congratulations to Head Football Coach Mike Orlando who won the Paul Brown Excellence in Coaching Award from the Cincinnati Bengals. The award includes a $10,000 Bengals donation to the McNicholas Athletic Department.

Bengals Director of Player Personnel, Duke Tobin, whose sons Will ’21 and Bo ‘25 have played for Coach Orlando, said, "I've seen firsthand the incredibly positive impact the McNicholas football program has on the students involved, as well as the broader community."

Tobin added, "This is a testament to Mike Orlando, the fantastic coaches he's assembled as well as school leadership. The development of character in his student-athletes makes Mike a great example of what the Paul Brown Excellence in Coaching Award stands for."

Coach Orlando is the second-winningest coach in McNicholas history. In 2021, he guided the Rockets to an 11-2 record, winning three games in the postseason to advance to the Ohio Division IV Regional Finals.

Coach Orlando kicks off his 12th season as the Rocket head coach on Friday, Aug. 19 with a home opener verses Indian Hill where he will face off against former Rocket coach John Rodenberg.

A Friendship Without Borders: McNicholas Celebrates Its First Sister School Exchange with Argentina

Nine McNicholas students traveled to Buenos Aires this summer for the school's first Sister School Exchange with Instituto Nuestra Señora de Las Nieves, building on friendships formed when Argentine students visited McNicholas earlier this year. Through living with host families, attending classes, and experiencing Argentina's rich culture and history, students discovered that the most meaningful lessons come from stepping beyond their comfort zones and embracing connections that transcend borders.

McNicholas proudly recognized 16 student-athletes from the Class of 2026 who have committed to continue their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level.
