Alum shares inspiring advice with Science National Honor Society inductees

Alum shares inspiring advice with Science National Honor Society inductees

Congratulations to the 12 seniors who were inducted into the Science National Honor Society. These students have exceeded expectations in their classes and shown a passion for science related fields outside the classroom: Charlotte Ackerman, Ellie Bowman, Lily Crooker, Madelyn Gundrum, Nate Kouche, Noah Novotny, Matthew Robey, Shawn Roesel, Becca Rose, Landen Rupp, Alex Russo, and Autumn Strebel.

McNicholas alum Tony Ranieri ’05, guest speaker during the induction, shared how science and entrepreneurship go hand-in-hand through his personal journey with both. Tony graduated from The Ohio State University and is now the founder and president of Solar Is Freedom, Cincinnati’s only locally owned and operated green energy company.

Tony recognized many ways that McNicholas helped him build a solid foundation and encouraged students to take advantage of their time as Rockets. “McNick taught me to think outside the box and instilled values of hard work and perseverance in me. My first job out of college was as a dishwasher but now I have started a company that will make $100 million dollars in revenue next year,” Tony said.

Tony gave this advice to the inductees: “Do not wait to start preparing for your future, you can do it now, right here at McNick…Be attentive and stay hungry to learn. Find things that interest you and be inspired to do great things with them!”
