Academic Support
Each student receives assistance in academic planning and course selection through individual sessions and consultation with teachers and parents. Schools counselors are available to support students with time management, study, and organizational skills.
Personal/Social Development
McNick school counselors promote personal and social development in all students. We support the growth of interpersonal skills that lead to students respecting themselves and others. We encourage participation in extracurricular activities, meet with students individually, and facilitate small counseling groups. School counselors also provide crisis intervention counseling and mental health referrals as needed.
Career Readiness
Career readiness begins with exploring one’s strengths and interests. The Counseling Department at McNicholas works closely with the Peer Mentors and English Department to facilitate career development opportunities for our students at each grade level.
