Sports Medicine

McNicholas cares about the health and well-being of our student athletes, both on and off the field. 

We partner with Mercy Health to ensure that our athletes receive the care they need to be strong in mind, body, and spirit. Mercy Health professionals provide a variety of services including athletic training services, sports physicals, training for coaches, ImPACT Concussion Management, and Sportsmetrics ACL Prevention.

Mercy Health provides McNicholas with a Certified Athletic Trainer who is skilled in the prevention, recognition, management, and rehabilitation of injuries that result from physical activity. Specifically, the AT specializes in the following:

  • Injury/Illness Prevention and Wellness Protection
  • Clinical Evaluation and Diagnosis
  • Immediate and Emergency Care
  • Treatment and Rehabilitation
  • Organization and Professional Health and Well-Being

The Certified Athletic Trainer functions as an integral member of the health care team, working under the direction of a licensed physician and in cooperation with other health care professionals, athletics administrators, coaches, and parents.

Athletic Training Rooms are located above the gym next to the boy’s locker room and inside the weight room.

Athletic Training Room Hours are Monday - Friday from 1:30 p.m. – 3 p.m. The trainer is also available on field until practices/games are over for the day.

Please contact AT for availability on weekends and holidays.
