Athletics

McNicholas High School Athletics’ rich history in the Greater Catholic League has helped us to produce over 20 appearances in state championships and hoist 9 championship trophies.

As part of the GCL Co-Ed, which continues to be recognized as one of the strongest leagues in the state of Ohio, McNicholas Athletics fosters the development of strong Christian values. Our sports are highly respected, and bring excitement, camaraderie, and spirit to our campus.

As members in good-standing of the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA), we compete in Division II or III for state tournaments. We sponsor approximately 45 teams in 16 boys’ and girls’ sports.

Faith-formation, teamwork, self-discipline, commitment, and sportsmanship, along with accountability and responsibility to others, are some of the lessons we teach our athletes. Through participation in sports, our student athletes grow toward Full Stature in Christ and mature into compassionate leaders, on and off the field.

Our highly-committed Athletic Department measures success based on the development of our student-athletes as competitors, but most importantly as faithful people who are prepared for the next stage of their lives. We are committed to keeping traditions alive while generating new opportunities to represent our community in places we all dream of reaching.
