Current Student Scholarships

Tuition Grants for Current Students


Current students are encouraged to apply for the following grants after January 10, 2018Award winners will be announced during the Academic Awards Ceremony in May. The application and all recommendations are due on February 28, 2018. Grant applications must include all required documents to be considered. Required materials include:

Bill Fanning Performing Arts ($500) 
This grant was established in honor of Bill Fanning, a longtime teacher at McNicholas High School, who in addition to teaching, had a love for the performing arts. It will be awarded to two students in their sophomore or junior year who have participated in any performing arts program at Archbishop McNicholas High School.

Hole in the Wall Gang ($500) 
Awarded to a junior who is involved in McNicholas High School co-curricular activities, demonstrates outstanding effort in both academics and co-curricular activities, exemplifies Christian values and leadership, and enriches the McNicholas community.

James Scanlon Memorial Excellence in Math ($1000) 
Awarded to a freshman who exemplifies the ideals of Christian leadership, the spirituality of Archbishop McNicholas High School, and is an active student participant in the Mathematics Department.

Jeffrey A. Smith Memorial ($500) 
Awarded to two juniors (one male and one female) who are involved in McNicholas High School co-curricular activities and exemplify the ideals of Christian leadership.

Kelly Clark Theatre Arts Memorial ($750) 
Awarded to two juniors who exemplify the ideals of Christian leadership and the spirituality of Archbishop McNicholas High School and who actively participate in the Theatre Department.

Kimberly J. Suddendorf Memorial and Neuman-Suddendorf Memorial Music Grants ($2000) 
These grants are awarded to the top scoring band or instrumental music students during the Music Department Scholarsip Auditions. Auditions are held in the late winter/early spring.

Nick Erdy Foundation ($1500) 
Awarded to a sophomore or junior who demonstrates financial need, a Christian attitude, and leadership.

Rosemary Vassolo Memorial ($500) 
This grant is in memory of Rosemary Vassolo, mother of teacher Mrs. Valerie Combs. Awarded to one freshman each year who exemplifies Christian ideals and dedication to Archbishop McNicholas High School. The freshman must be in good academic standing and enrich the McNicholas community. In addition to an application, this scholarship requires the applicant to write a personal essay answering the following question: Describe an inspirational person in your life who shows courage, strength and fortitude in his or her daily life. Show how that person has touched your life and helped you become who you are. (500 word maximum)

Saint Joseph Christian Service ($1500) 
Awarded to a junior who exemplifies the ideals of Christian leadership and the spirituality of Archbishop McNicholas High School and who participates in community service work within the school and the community.

Saint Thomas More ($1500) 
Awarded to a junior who exemplifies the ideals of Christian leadership and the spirituality of Archbishop McNicholas High School and who participates on the Mock Trial/Debate Team.

Shelia Perry Helping Heart ($750) 
Shelia Perry graduated from McNicholas High School in 1975. She dedicated her life to tirelessly helping anyone in need. This grant was created to honor Shelia’s legace and will be awarded to a junior who shows friendship to those in need and demonstrates a sincere willingness to help wherever needed. 

McNicholas High School Scholarship Opportunities for Class of 2018


Seniors are encouraged to apply for the following scholarships after January 10, 2018Award winners will be announced during the Academic Awards Ceremony in May. The application and all recommendations are due on February 28, 2018. Applications must include all required documents to be considered. Required materials include:

Ann Robinson Memorial Nursing Scholarship ($500)
This is given to a graduating senior who will enter a four-year Nursing (BSN/RN) program in college.  Selection criteria include academic performance, service, and character.

Nick Erdy Scholarship ($2000)
The scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who has demonstrated a Christian attitude and leadership.
