September 26 Shadow Season Begins (8th grade only)
Experience how awesome it is to be a Rocket for a day! Future Rockets will learn more about McNicholas by being personally escorted by one of our trained Ambassadors as the students observe a dynamic academic day. Also, students will be treated to lunch, and will dine with their host and other Rockets in our Café and Student Union. Students will also interview with a member of our Admissions Committee during their day. Space is limited each shadow day in order to give our guests the personal attention they deserve. October 5 Prospective Parent Information Night, 7-8 p.m.
This engaging evening is designed for parents to mingle with other prospective parents and school faculty and staff, explore what McNicholas has to offer, and learn why a co-education high school better supports your child’s future. To RSVP, click here.
October 5 SAIL Information Session, 6-7 p.m.
This session will provide an overview of the support and accommodations provided for students accepted into our SAIL program. You will meet with the director of the program and will review the application process. There will be time for questions and answers within the group setting. To RSVP, click here.
October 10 Grade School Night, Rockets vs. Badin High School (Women’s Volleyball), 4:30 p.m.
Future Rockets in grades K-8 receive FREE admission. Come cheer on your future high school team as they take on the Badin Rams.
October 14 Grade School Day, Rockets vs. Chaminade Julienne (football), 1 p.m.
Future Rockets in grades K-8 receive FREE admission. Come cheer on your future high school team as they take on their feathered rival, the CJ Eagles.
October 15 Open House, 1-4 p.m.
Families of students in 5th -8th grade will choose from one of our unique “Pick Your Path” personalized tours. Each tour will be led by a student Ambassador. November 3 Entrance Exam/HPST Accommodations Request Due
In order to receive accommodations on the HSPT, your child must already be receiving the requested accommodations, and it must be noted on a formalized IEP/ISP. For qualified students, we will provide the following accommodations: Extended Time (50%), Reader, Large Print. Due to staffing availability, we cannot accommodate a 1:1 ratio. Approved students will receive accommodations for all sections of the test. To request accommodations, please contact your grade school principal for a request form. Students in public schools can contact the Admissions Office for a request form. All requests must be submitted to the Admissions Office by November 3. Any late requests will not be considered for the official testing date.

Future Rockets in 6th and 7th grade are invited to enjoy an evening of fun activities with McNicholas Ambassadors and enjoy a pizza dinner. The theme this year is “The END Hunger Games.” A special parent social with “grown up” fare will be held at the same time. Parents can relax, meet other future Rocket parents, and tour our facility.
