Future Rocket Rally for Class of 2024

Incoming 8th graders are invited to spend the day with us as you learn more about the McNicholas High School experience while having a ton of fun! You'll choose three breakout sessions that fit your interests such as STEAM, HSPT tips, faith & service activity, stress-less lab, scavenger hunt, coed basketball tourney, and more! This evening is designed for students who attend a public grade school or a non-Catholic private school.  Students and parents who are not Catholic, have no prior family connections to McNicholas, or are just curious about what we offer are welcome to attend.   We'll discuss what it means to be a McNicholas student, explain service opportunities, and hear perspectives from current students who attended a public school prior to McNicholas.  Please RSVP to admissions@mcnhs.org.

Families interested in learning more about our SAIL program (Support and Accommodations for Identified Learners) are invited to join us to learn more about how our program helps students with identified learning disabilities excel at McNicholas. Scholarships, Financial Aid, and the HSPT, 7 p.m. Café and Student Union

This evening will walk families through scholarship opportunities, how to apply for financial aid, and what to expect from the High School Placement Test. Please RSVP to admissions@mcnhs.org

Prospective Families Open House, 1-4 p.m.

Open House is designed for families and students enrolled in 6-8 grade. Families will take a tour, have an opportunity to speak with teachers and coaches, and interact with students. No reservations are needed.

November 5
Future Thespians “Behind the Scenes,” 6-8 p.m.

Students in grades 7-8 are invited to peek behind the scenes of our fall production, as well as watch part of the dress rehearsal. This is a great event for students interested in studying theatre in high school. Space is limited to 20 students.

HSPT Accommodation requests are due

Catholic school students should contact their principal for the accommodation request form.  Public and other non-Catholic schools should contact admissions for a copy of the accommodations request form. Documented accommodations on an IEP, 504, etc. must accompany request.

Class of 2024 Acceptance Letters Mailed via USPS

Accepted students will also receive electronic notices at 5 p.m. EST.

January 15-20
Archdiocese No-Contact Period

Per the Archdiocese of Cincinnati’s Recruitment Without Boundaries Policy, representatives from Archbishop McNicholas High School will not contact parents and/or students regarding admissions from January 15-20. This period of time is to allow families to discern their high school decision. However, parents may initiate contact with McNicholas High School during this time should they have any questions.

January 24
Admission with Honors Reception, 6:30 p.m., Library. By invitation only.

Last Look Open House, 6-8 p.m., Library.

Families who need one last look before making their high school decision are invited to join us another visit. Representatives from various academic departments, athletics, technology, school administration, and admissions will be available to answer any of your questions. You are also invited to be our guest at the men’s basketball game vs. Purcell.

Commitment Day, 3:30-8 p.m., Café and Student Union

It’s commitment day! Drop off your registration fee and deposit, pick-up your class shirt and yard sign, and celebrate your decision to join the Rocket legacy!

Shadow Days begin for 7th grade student who are not enrolled in a Catholic elementary school

Seventh grade students who are not enrolled in a Catholic elementary school are permitted to shadow on selected days after March 3.

Future Rockets Fest, 5-8 p.m. for students in grades 5-7

Games, food, door prizes, friends, and fun! Future Rockets have a BLAST at this annual event with students from across the city.
