HSPT

The Archdiocese of Cincinnati requires all 8th grade applicants to take the High School Placement Test (HSPT).

The HSPT for 8th graders will take place on Saturday, November 22, 2025.  Students may take the test at any participating high school and indicate three high schools in which to send your scores. McNicholas is a testing site.

Students taking the test at McNicholas and requesting accommodations must indicate it on the registration form and submit their accommodation plan to McNicholas: admissions@mcnhs.org. We also require a signed approval form from the student's school administration.  Due date to request accommodations: November 8, 2025

All students register through the Archdiocese of Cincinnati's HSPT registration site, through Scholastic Testing Services (STS). Testing cost: $30.

Listen to our students explain why they feel so at home at McNicholas High School.

We love McNick! The sense of community, faith based education, collective leadership of the school, longevity of key teachers, and focus on communication in classes were the top reasons we chose to send our sons here.Amie, parent of Class of '24 and '26
