Financial Aid and Tuition

EdChoice Scholarship Program
The State of Ohio has significantly expanded the EdChoice Scholarship Program for the 2020-21 school year. If your public school district high school is on this list of designated schools, you might be eligible for the state to pay $6000 of your McNicholas tuition. This is true regardless of your income. Many public high schools linked to the home addresses of McNicholas families are on the list. Be sure to check!
Cincinnati residents, please note that any high school in Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS) can serve as your family's assigned public school because CPS allows students to choose the high school they attend. Select a CPS high school on the list of designated schools when you apply for the EdChoice Scholarship.
We encourage families eligible for the EdChoice Scholarship and who have financial need to still submit an application for tuition assistance from McNicholas by completing the FACTS application by the deadline, December 1, 2019. If the State approves your application for an EdChoice Scholarship of $6000 and your financial need exceeds $6000, you might qualify for additional tuition assistance from McNicholas.
You do not need to take any action on EdChoice at this time. The State has not yet published the 2020-21 EdChoice application. We will inform you when it becomes available.

Families new to FACTS:

To create a new FACTS payment plan or create a new application for Financial Aid, please review these simple steps to apply:

  1. You will first need to create an online account.
  2. Then click on the Set Up a Payment Plan link.
  3. Select McNicholas High School.
  4. Complete the steps as prompted.

Enrolling in a FACTS tuition payment plan allows you to select a payment option that best suits your financial needs. All plans can be paid by either credit card or automatic bank draft.  Payment options are subject to change depending on enrollment date.

  • Monthly Payments:  Spread your tuition balance over 10 monthly installments.
  • Quarterly Payments: Pay your tuition in quarterly installments.
  • Semi-Annual Payments: Pay your tuition in two installments.
  • Payment in Full:  FACTS is a quick, secure method for paying your tuition balance in full.

For more details about the options above, create an online account.

All incoming/prospective families:

  • If you currently pay grade school tuition through FACTS, you must update your account to include McNicholas High School.
  • If applying for financial aid, this is done through your FACTS account. You need only one account for the FACTS Tuition Payment Plan and FACTS Financial Aid Application.

Current families:

For each year you are requesting financial assistance, you must fill out a financial aid application by the deadline. This will always be in the fall preceding the school year you are requesting assistance.

You do not need to set up a new account for your payment plan options as the information will be transferred. However, you must go on your FACTS account to click on the Financial Aid Application option and apply each year.

When applying for financial aid:

  • There is a one-time, non-refundable application fee of $30.
  • All major credit cards are accepted.
  • Your application covers multiple institutions. Be sure to list all schools you wish to receive your financial information.
  • Please select the correct school year you are requesting financial aid (2020-2021).
  • Be sure to list all children in your household who will be attending a tuition-charging institution, PK-12 along with social security numbers for each child.
  • You will need a copy of your 2018 tax returns.
  • If separated/divorced: Both parents must fill out an application when sharing tuition costs. It is imperative that you discuss what you both are able to pay and list that on the application. For example, if you are responsible for 50% of the tuition, take the current tuition of $10,990 and divide by two = $5,495. This is your cost of tuition. Then list what you are able to contribute. It is not permissible for both parents to say they are 100% responsible for tuition.
  • After you submit your application and pay the processing fee, you will be asked to submit copies of your tax forms.
  • You can either fax or upload your documents to FACTS. This information will be provided on the screen after submission.
  • Do not send any financial information to McNicholas High School.
