Archbishop McNicholas High School inducted thirteen new members to its three world language honor societies Tues., Apr. 25.
The induction ceremony included prayers representing each of the languages taught at McNicholas as well as a presentation from McNicholas theology teacher John Norman. Norman talked about how the ability to communicate and listen can improve our relationship with God and with those in other cultures. He shared his story of his first visit to Nicaragua in 2010 and how that motivated him to want to learn Spanish to be able to talk with the people. Using humor as well as personal stories, Mr. Norman entertained as well as highlighted the benefits of knowing a second language.
