Archbishop McNicholas High School celebrated its sixth annual Academic Signing Day on May 1. Valedictorian Myles Bailey and Salutatorian Madison Boeckman led the group of ten who have achieved the highest weighted cumulative grade point average up to and including the third quarter of senior year.
“These students have all been given gifts of intellect, but have not relied solely on those gifts. They have coupled their talents with a passion for learning and an inner drive to be successful,” Dan Rosenbaum, Director of Curriculum, said. “They are here today because they were never satisfied with ‘good enough.’ They pursued perfection. And while perfection may not be attainable, the pursuit of it brings excellence.”
Rosenbaum thanked and congratulated parents who instilled the values of hard work and perseverance while sacrificing, encouraging, and challenging their students as their first and most important educators.
“These are the types of students, who by pushing themselves, force other students to do the same just to keep up,” Rosenbaum said. “They challenge teachers to be on top of their game every day to find the best ways possible to open up students’ minds. In other words, they are the driving force behind the academic success of the school.”
