Math honor society welcomes 23 members

McNicholas High School inducted 23 members into its Mu Alpha Theta chapter Thurs., Oct. 13. Mu Alpha Theta is the National High School and Two-Year College Mathematics Honor Society with over 113,500 student members in more than 2300 schools nationally. The honor society is dedicated to inspiring keen interest in mathematics, developing strong scholarship in the subject, and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics. 

Membership in Mu Alpha Theta is open to students who have completed three years of honors math with an unweighted math GPA of 90% and weighted overall GPA of 87%. Members tutor students in mathematics throughout the school year and participate in statewide math competitions. 

Congratulations to the following Rockets who were inducted--Zac Chen, Abby Conard, Carly Cullion, Avery Dietz, Gillian Donnelly, Daniel English, Andrew Evans, Jacob Fries, Jaclyn Geygan, Meghan Hagenbarth, Samuel Havlis, Abby Hay, Cameron Haynes, Molly Jorden, Sean Kapp, Seon Jin Kim, Alyssa Leaton, Katherine McHugh, Evan Pour, Amy Powell, Benjamin Wainscott, Zachary Woodke, and Ken Zhao.
