McNicholas High School is proud to announce that seniors Katherine McHugh and Zachary Woodke have been named National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) finalists.
McHugh and Woodke were part of the field of 16,000 semifinalists who were narrowed to 15,000 finalists from all the students who took the PSAT in the fall of 2015. Of the finalists, 1,200 are chosen for special scholarships, while 7,500 receive National Merit Scholarships. These National Merit Scholarships are either a $2,500 National Merit Scholarship, a corporate scholarship, or college-sponsored scholarship.
McHugh, who also scored a perfect 36 on the ACT, plans to study computer science at the University of Notre Dame. Woodke will be attending The Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business for a major in real estate business and a minor in architecture.
