Archbishop McNicholas High School sophomore Christopher Georgiades was one of three winners in the fiction category in Mt. St. Joseph University’s 22nd Annual Writing Contest. He was honored in a ceremony at Mt. St. Joseph on March 21 where he read his winning piece, a satire titled “The Land of the Grass and the Sand” and received a $50 cash award.
Each year, the School of Arts and Humanities at Mt. St. Joseph University holds this writing contest for sophomores from the Greater Cincinnati Area. Students can submit writing pieces in the areas of fiction, personal essay, and poetry, with only three winners chosen from each category. Georgiades’ piece was chosen from entries from 20 area schools. Other students who submitted entries from McNicholas included Isabelle Bowling, Erin Callahan, Dominic Daley, Meechi Georgiades, and Jack Munzel. All are second year students of Mrs. Angie Noble.
