McNicholas High School’s engineering classes have been partnering with alumnus Bill Deimling ’61 and his non-profit May We Help which designs, creates, and builds specialty devices for people with disabilities at no charge.
McNicholas engineering students designed a prototype of a machine that students with limited mobility at the Margaret B. Rost School could use to help fill bags. Deimling plans to have the McNicholas students present the Rost students with the working models after the machines are tested and produced, and he has invited engineering classes to return in the spring semester to continue the partnership and hands-on learning.
On December 2, Deimling accepted an award from Patient Innovation in Paris, France, for May We Help's work, the non-profits's impact, and the novelty of their solutions.
