This fall, many teachers conduct classes outdoors when weather permits. Thanks to senior Wesley Richmond, the McNicholas outdoor learning space is enhanced and improved as a result of Wesley’s Eagle Scout project.
Wesley and about thirty people worked many hours over three recent weekends to make his vision of a clean, accessible, outdoor learning space on his school’s campus a reality. He is very proud and hopes to leave a lasting legacy at McNicholas.
The wood for the benches, whiteboard and new steps leading to the space are beautiful and sturdy and will last for years to come. The eight tons of gravel should also keep the space usable and fight overgrowth.
A big thanks to Wesley for his timely vision, hard work, and generosity in creating a generous space for outdoor learning.
