Welcome New Faculty & Staff

In addition to our new principal, Mr. Bob Noll, we are excited to welcome new faculty and staff members to the McNicholas family, many of whom are filling new positions in our growing community. 

Dr. Denver Stanfield, President of McNicholas, said, “I am thrilled to welcome this impressive group of individuals to McNicholas High School. Our strong faculty and staff has become even stronger with the addition of our new colleagues and I am confident that our students and community will benefit from their presence.”

Mrs. Katie Hambly- Director of Curriculum

Mrs. Hambly has fond memories of cheerleading when she was in high school; one of her favorite experiences was cheering with her dad on senior night! Now, she likes to spend her time with her daughter Hadley, her husband, and their two dogs. She’s looking forward to the excitement that she says surrounds the McNicholas community, students, faculty, and staff.  


Mr. Mark BruggerSocial Studies Teacher 
B.A. Xavier University 

Mr. Brugger is a movie and television buff who is looking forward to watching Ashoka and NBA on TNT later this fall. At McNicholas, he hopes to make an impact on the community and its students through the classroom and through mentoring opportunities such as CREW and Kairos retreats.  


Ms. Amy Buot - Math Teacher

One of Ms. Buot’s favorite high school memories was playing piccolo as a part of a farewell performance to her retiring band director. She said, “Our director conducted through teary eyes and at that moment we all felt the love that she had for us and for her profession.” She hopes to keep that love going here at McNicholas by sharing her knowledge and passion for mathematics with her students and by supporting them in their activities outside of the classroom as well.  


Deacon Peter Caccavari Theology Teacher

After watching his son graduate from McNicholas in 2022, Deacon Caccavari is excited transition from a McNicholas parent to a faculty member in the Theology Department. Deacon Caccavari serves as a deacon at Guardian Angels Church and the St. Gregory the Great Family of Parishes. When he’s not hard at work, you can find him writing poetry and working in his garden.  


Mr. Bill CavanaughSAIL Intervention Specialist 
B.A. Mount St. Joseph University, M.Ed. University of Cincinnati 

Mr. Cavanaugh is excited to be a part of the McNicholas SAIL team. He said, “McNicholas High School has a wonderful reputation, and I feel blessed to be a part of such a wonderful school community.” Mr. Cavanaugh ran cross country in his junior and senior year of high school. Despite his late start to the sport, he put in the work and bonded with his teammates who later voted to award him for his inspiration and perseverance. He wants his students to know that it is never too late to try something new! 


Ms. Liz Curran Theology Teacher 
B.A. Fairfield University, M.A. Xavier University, Nonprofit Management Certificate Duke University 

Ms. Curran loves being outdoors where a game of pickleball or a hike at the Cincinnati Nature Center nurtures her spirit. She is excited to be a part of the McNicholas community, creating connections with students and faculty.  She said, “I look forward to being in the classroom, nurturing the faith of our students, facilitating their growth within the community, and fostering their educational journey.” 


Ms. Jessica MuellerScience Teacher 
B.S. University of Dayton 

Baking sweet treats is Ms. Mueller’s ideal way to spend an afternoon. Some of her specialties include cookies, scones, and cinnamon rolls. She also loves cheering on the Reds with her three and four-year-old sons and reading anything from science nonfiction to historical fiction to fantasy. As a former high school marching band State finalist, she can’t wait to attend sporting and fine arts events with her family!  


Mr. Ben PopsonTheology Teacher 
B.A. Marian University, M.A. Texas Tech University  

Mr. Popson is excited to become colleagues with his wife, McNicholas art teacher Mrs. Hudepohl. As a high schooler, he was involved in theatre and tennis and is now very eager to meet his students, which he says is the best part of teaching. Outside of work he enjoys reading and hanging out with his cats. 


Mr. Jack VetterEnglish Teacher

Mr. Vetter is always looking for his next favorite book! He loves to be active, playing intramural volleyball and soccer, and cheering for our hometown sports teams. His favorite part of high school was his involvement in the pep rally committee and spirit squad where he says, “It was a great way to foster a sense of pride and togetherness amongst both the students and the greater community.” He’s eager to bring that energy to McNicholas where he hopes to get involved in the school and community both in the classroom and with extracurricular opportunities.  


Mr. David WirthTheology Teacher 
B.A. Xavier University, M.Ed. Xavier University, M.A. Athenaeum of Ohio 

In addition to teaching theology, Mr. Wirth is joining the Rocket football coaching staff and will be serving as CREW Dean. Mr. Wirth’s passion for coaching stems from his love of participating in sports when he was in high school. He’s looking forward to getting to know the student body and finding out what McNicholas is all about!  


Mr. Nate RobertsSAIL Intervention Specialist 
B.S. University of Kentucky 

Mr. Roberts is excited to be starting his teaching career as an intervention specialist at such a welcoming school! He has very fond memories of Friday night football games from his high school days, but now-a-days, you’ll find him in the classroom or on the golf course. 


Mr. Tyler Carter Assistant Athletic Director 
B.A. Northern Kentucky University, M.S. University of Dayton 

Mr. Carter brings valuable experience to his new role as Assistant AD, having served as a member of the basketball staffs at Huntington Prep School and the University of Dayton. He’ll never forget when, during his freshman year of high school, he hit a half-court, buzzer-beater shot to defeat his school’s rivals in the first round of the tournament. Now, he is eager to be a part of something that is bigger than himself and help to positively influence student athletes here at McNicholas.  


Ms. Maddie Agresta Assistant to the Director of Communications & Marketing 
B.A. Xavier University  

Ms. Agresta likes to spend her free time crocheting, watching movies, or checking out concerts. In high school she was on the yearbook staff where she says, “It was rewarding to have a hand in something that the whole school was able to enjoy and hold onto.” She is looking forward to witnessing and showcasing the many unique opportunities and accomplishments students have here at McNicholas.  


Mr. Drew McMillanManager of Alumni Relations 

Mr. McMillan has been a member of the McNicholas family since his days at a student here! After graduating in 2008, he returned to his alma mater to coach football and baseball. Now, he is stepping up to the plate to keep his fellow alumni connected to McNicholas. Mr. McMillan said, “I am most excited to be able to contribute to the future success of a place that has given me so much.” Mr. McMillan is a hug Bearcat and Bengals fan and loves spending time with his tight-knit group of McNicholas friends, but his greatest passions are his wife and his four-year-old son. 


Mrs. Missy Markovic Assistant Director of Admissions and Enrollment  
B.P.S. University of Cincinnati 

Mrs. Markovic loves watching baseball with her husband and collecting baseball cards, and she is thrilled to join the momentum and excitement of McNicholas. Mrs. Marcovic said, “The momentum at McNick was noticeable as an outsider and I feel blessed to be a part of it now!” 


Mrs. Karin KruseAdministrative Assistant to Admissions 

Mrs. Kruse is excited about the positive energy and welcoming spirit at McNicholas and can’t wait to share that energy with prospective families in her role as a member of the Admissions Department. She enjoys hiking and kayaking with her husband of 35 years, and loves tending to her flower and vegetable garden, but her true passion is her fairy garden! 


Mr. Caleb Dunseith Human Resources and Payroll Specialist  
B.S. Northern Kentucky University 

Mr. Dunseith loves the outdoors! When he’s not at work, you will find him kayaking, swimming, and hiking. He can’t wait to cheer on the Rockets at sporting events this year…especially the soccer team since that was his specialty in high school.
