Congratulations to the Top 10 of 2022
At our annual Academic Signing celebration on Tuesday, May 3, we recognized the Class of 2022 Top 10. These 10 students have achieved the highest weighted cumulative grade point average up to and including the third quarter of their senior year: Jack Caccavari, Emma Clemons, Andrew Collette, Bobby Fechtel, Emily Fridley, Zach Geiser, Maria Klug, Ethan Koran, Arden Jakubovic, and Jason Munzel.
As they move on to their collegiate careers, these Rockets will be challenging themselves in fields like neuroscience, aerospace engineering, information technology, political science, sports management, stage management, and environmental engineering.
“We are very proud of these students and the hard work they have put into their academic careers at McNicholas,” Director of Curriculum Dan Rosenbaum said. “We are equally proud of the ways they have exceled outside of the classroom in athletics, theatre, band, service, and many other areas of life. These students push themselves and others around them to excel and, in doing so, help drive the academic success of our school."
“Jack is an observer and a critical thinker who strives to do his best to understand and not simply to achieve the A. He is a talented student, athlete, and musician. He is involved all around the school and he brings his unique gifts and talents to everything he does. He is a hardworking, determined, and humble young man.”
“Emma works very hard to do well in class, but also has a passion for learning that goes beyond the gradebook. She is a talented artist and is able to use her artistic skills to fuel her passion for science. Emma's personality is a wonderful combination of perception, intelligence, and kindness.”
“Andrew is a big picture person; he is insightful and takes great care in everything he does from academics to sports. He is thoughtful, caring, extremely hard working, and humble. He is a wonderful witness to his peers and a tremendous representative of McNicholas High School.”
“Bobby is a quiet leader who works hard both in and out of the classroom. His kind and thoughtful nature is a gift to all. He is dedicated, mature, and wise. His reserved nature brings those around him a sense of peace and stability.”
“Emily is a bright and kind young woman, who gives of herself in a natural and humble way. Her spirit of kindness and willingness to step into what is new, and what will stretch and grow her, is a strength. She sees deeply, and considers each person for who they are. She will make a difference in this world.”
“Zach is undoubtedly a talented student, but he may be an even better leader. His dedication, thoughtfulness, and caring nature are an inspiration to his peers. Zach is driven, determined, conscientious, and funny. He has a heart of gold and is willing to make changes to make this world a better place.”
“Maria is a thoughtful and compassionate person. She takes great care in her writing as well as other academic work, and she strives to make the world a better place with her presence. She steps up when she needs to and is always there for her peers, teammates, and friends. Maria is a leader by example. She puts herself fully into everything she is involved in, and she takes on challenges with a smile.”
“Ethan is gentle, hardworking, and gifted with many talents, including being a brilliant math student and an insightful engineer. He is appreciative of all his gifts, making sure to use all of them to the best of his ability. His insights in class demonstrate not only the depth of his knowledge, but also the content of his character.”
“Arden is honest, insightful, passionate, and brilliant. She throws herself 100% into whatever she is doing. She is willing to be herself in all areas and is not afraid to step out of the norm. There will be no stopping her!”
“Jason's empathy and awareness of the plight of others is always at the forefront of his thinking and movement in this world. There is no doubt that his contributions will make the world a better place and others will want to be better because of him.”

The McNicholas Theatre Department proudly announces its upcoming performance of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. The play will run December 5-7 at McNicholas High School in the Jeanne Spurlock Theatre.

Congratulations to the seven students who were inducted to The Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (SHH). The Spanish Honor Society recognizes high achievement in Spanish and promotes continuing interest in Hispanic studies and culture.
