Seniors recognized by National Merit Scholarship Corporation
Three members of the senior class have been recognized by the National Merit® Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) program as Commended Students: Grace Fechtel, Remington Holder, and Mary Metzger.
Principal Bob Noll said, “I am excited for and proud of Grace, Remy, and Mary. We are grateful for their hard work, in collaboration with the support of their teachers and mentors, and are proud that their gifts and efforts are being celebrated in such a prestigious manner.”
NMSC identifies and honors academically talented U.S. high school students and encourages them to pursue rigorous college studies.
“Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success,” commented a spokesperson for NMSC. “These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation. We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success.”

McNicholas High School celebrated students achieving their academic best by inducting 41 new members into the Altiora Chapter of National Honor Society on Thursday, Mar. 27.
Parents, coaches, and athletes gathered to celebrate the 169 athletes and 31 senior athletes that participated in the successful winter sports season.
During the annual Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce awards ceremony on March 25, senior Lila Moeves will be recognized as Student of the Year and faculty member Mr. Bill Losekamp will be recognized as Educator of the Year.
