Sophomore Sophia Brockman’s talent was in the spotlight when she performed with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra during the Holiday Pops show.
Sophia has been dancing since kindergarten and performed in her first Holiday Pops show in 2017. This year, Sophia was invited to dance with her studio, The Studio For Dance, in all six performances. Sophia also performed with the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra this past summer in their Fourth of July show at Riverbend Music Center.
Sophia is a member of the Rocket football and basketball cheer teams and a McNicholas thespian, having performed as a siren in last year’s school musical, Xanadu.
“One of the things I love most about McNick is the idea of Finding your Brilliance and the recognition of each individual student’s God-given talents,” Sophia said. Sophia works hard to develop those God-given talents, not only in dance but in other areas as well.
Sophia’s photography teacher, Mrs. Sarah Nestheide, said, “Sophia is always open to learning new things and developing her skills. She takes what she’s learned and allows it to flourish into something that is a unique reflection of her. She is particularly good at finding the beauty in everyday things. On top of it all, she is a kind, helpful, positive presence in our community.”
Congratulations on a brilliant Holiday Pops performance, Sophia!
