7% of senior class recognized by National Merit Scholarship Corporation

In addition to the three seniors announced as finalists in the 2021 National Merit® Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) program, six are being recognized as Commended Students: Emma Clemons, Andrew Collette, Bobby Fechtel, Emily Fridley, Zach Geiser, and Joe Walters.

These students represent 7% of our senior class. “That’s an impressive number of students to be recognized by the National Merit program,” Principal David Mueller said. “At McNicholas, we strive to help each student discover his or her God-given brilliance; we are so proud of these scholars whose hard work has allowed their talents to shine.”

NMSC identifies and honors academically talented U.S. high school students and encourages them to pursue rigorous college studies. “We are grateful for the hard work of these students and of their teachers and mentors who have guided them along the way.
