McNicholas welcomes Robert Noll as Principal for 2023-24

McNicholas welcomes Robert Noll as Principal for 2023-24

The McNicholas family is excited to welcome Mr. Robert Noll as the Principal of McNicholas High School, beginning with the 2023-24 school year.

Mr. Noll is a lifetime resident of Northern Kentucky and has a total of 25 years of experience in Catholic education in the Diocese of Covington.

Mr. Noll earned his M.Ed. from Northern Kentucky University and his Principal, School Administration, and Superintendent Licenses from Xavier University.  He is a graduate of the Harvard Manager Mentors Leadership Program.

The search for Mr. Noll began after current Principal David Mueller announced his intent to retire from full time employment at the end of the 2022-23 academic year. Mr. Mueller said, “I'm grateful that the excellent search process has culminated in the appointment of Mr. Noll as the next principal.  His experience, faith, and leadership skills provide a wonderful fit for the opportunities that lie ahead for McNicholas.”

Mr. Noll began his career teaching theology and business at his alma mater, Covington Catholic High School. He served as the Assistant Principal and Safety Director at Bishop Brossart High School and as Principal at Newport Central Catholic High School for 12 years. Most recently, Mr. Noll has held administrative positions at Beechwood High School and Tichenor Middle School.

Mr. Noll’s 11 years in public schools have given him incredibly valuable and diverse experience and perspective. He is excited to return to a Catholic school environment, having missed the energy and fulfillment that daily contact with a Christ-centered community provides.

Mr. Noll remains very active in his parish, Mother of God in Covington. His interests and professional development activities have included education in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; Cognitive Coaching; Professional Growth and Effectiveness; Teacher Mentor Programs; and Student Safety.

“Robert Noll is well respected as an educator, an administrator, and a leader of Catholic secondary education and we are grateful that he is joining the McNicholas High School Team. He will be a valuable asset to our community as our school continues the positive growth fostered by Mr. Mueller,” President Denver Stanfield, M.D. said.
