McNicholas celebrates the Class of 2024

McNicholas celebrates the Class of 2024

Congratulations to our newest graduates who received their diplomas at the Taft Theatre on Monday, May 20.

Salutatorian Grace Fechtel and valedictorian Remington Holder shared reflections about their class’s graduation theme “resilience helps you find your brilliance.”

Grace challenged her class to remember the mission of our school as they embark on their futures: “It is my hope that my classmates use what we’ve learned at McNick to continue to serve and work towards attaining Full Stature in Christ.” She also reminded them to remember in difficult times that “everyone here is rooting for you. Even though we are graduating and moving on, our time as Rockets will always play a role in who we are and will be.”

Remy spoke about the bond he and his classmates have shared over their four years together. “For better or worse, the very people who surround you, the friends you have made, and those you have lost, have all made an indelible impact on the person you are and the person you are sure to become.” He encouraged them to continue to carry that impact with them in life and “forever hold pride in being able to call yourself a Rocket.”

McNicholas alumni and social studies teacher Mr. Pat Stricker called for these Rockets to continue their brilliance as they go off into the world. “Graduates of the Class of 2024, you are the leaders of our future. Strive to be compassionate leaders that challenge the status quo. Go accomplish something great and do it with humility and kindness.”
