Architecture students egg-cel in annual egg drop competition

Architecture students egg-cel in annual egg drop competition

Architecture students tested the design of their egg drop contraptions during the 2022 Architecture Egg Drop Competition. Even with the added challenge of a windy day, 18 of 25 eggs made it safely from the window of the convent to the blacktop three stories down.

Egg-ceptional job by these winners:

  • Best in Flight: Lauren McNamee & Meredith Umstead
  • Fastest Down and Lived to Talk About It:  Morgan Svarda & Owen Lawler
  • Bauhaus Award-Best Overall: Greyden Murray & Ashley Jarrold

Senior Morgan Svarda said, “Architecture is such a fun and productive class. I love that I get to use my hands to build things that are useful and can be helpful to others. The programs we use such as REVIT are setting me up for success in college and beyond.”

Art Department Chair and Scholastic Educators Art Award recipient, Ms. Mel Gaskins, is proud of her architecture program which features REVIT architectural software, 3D Printers for model making and industrial design projects, plotters and large format printers, a vacuum table for model making, and iPad and Apple Macbook Pro Labs.
