Shadow Days

Plan your visit

Eight grade students are invited to visit McNicholas on the following dates:

• October 1 - December 14
• January 7 - 31
• February 12 - 28

We recommend that students shadow before mid-December in order to make a decision by the Registration Day in January.  Transfer applicants may shadow after February 1.

Friday, Nov. 2 is a Preferred Visit Day.  We'll have upperclassmen as well as freshmen hosting students, there's a pep rally planned, and the theatre will be set up for our fall play.  Capacity: 40 eighth graders.  This date will close early!  Deadline to register for Preferred Visit Day is October 26.

Arrive at McNicholas

• Report to the main lobby off Beechmont Avenue at 7:30 a.m. to meet your host.
  
• Bring your signed Shadow Day Permission Form with you.
  
• Appropriate dress for the day is dress slacks in tan or navy and a properly fitting shirt with a collar and sleeves.
  

Become a Rocket

Visit one-on-one with a McNicholas student who will be your host for the day. Your host will take you to classes and introduce you to his or her classmates. You’ll have a chance to see our teachers in action, ask questions about our school, and meet other great students.

Enjoy lunch
You may pack your lunch or purchase a “swipe” card for $5.00 at check-in. Use your swipe card to purchase as much food as you like. If you pack, drinks are available for $1.00 at the vending machines.

Conclude your visit
The day will conclude at 1:45 p.m. with checkout in the main lobby.
