TECHNOLOGY GOAL 2000-2001

GOAL 1:

Use of Department Computer lab to

1. find authentic resources on line in the target language as well as learning what on-line research resources are available for a variety of specific topics: culture, comparisons between cultures, indigenous groups , geography, history, civilization, politics, art , current news topics, as well as others, and
2.  use of videos power point presentations, digital camera photos, etc. to use authentic situations to teach language and culture, and for students to pick topics of interest and importance for them to present to class.

GOAL 2:

 Use of Department Computer Lab to:

1. practice/build vocabulary and grammar skills in the target language
2. for reading and writing skills in the target language
3. use of the Portable Listening Lab Equipment to enhance and build listening skills.

GOAL 3:

 Use of Department Computer Lab, School Digital Camera and Audio/Visual Equipment for

1. power point created projects
2. Email within and without school for practice in the target language (Emails pals)
3. Video presentations of dialogs and other projects in the target language

GOAL 4:

Use of Department Computers for research projects on Websites and Links for presentations and gathering of information:

Current events in a target country

Research on individual’s with a background in a target culture (Personas Famosas Project in Spanish I)

History, Civilization, Culture (History of Mexico Project, La Catrina: Spanish II)

French Provinces (French I or II)

GOAL 5:

 Use of Department Computers for Web Quest in the target languages, development of theoretical travel itineraries, jobs pertaining to the target language, development of opinions about differences and similarities between cultures, historical problems between cultures, etc.
