Journey to Justice is a weekend retreat for upperclassmen that is designed to challenge students to explore how they can expand their vision of a just world. By deepening students' relationships with one another and with others in the Greater Cincinnati area, our community moves in the direction of action on behalf of justice. Retreatants will be asked to forgo some of the usual conveniences (cell phones, televisions, etc.) as an act of solidarity with the poor of this city, this nation, and our world. Through interaction with members of the community, through discussions, reflection, and through shared prayer, we will address such issues as poverty and homelessness, the environment, sexism, racism, and violence. Our time together will challenge us as humans and as Christians to confront the realities that many in our world face daily while offering signs of hope for change. It is a four day, three night retreat that takes place in various locations throughout Cincinnati. Students apply for the retreat at the end of Junior year to attend in Senior year. Space is limited. This optional retreat would be in addition to a Kairos or Appalachia retreat, not in lieu of.
