Members of the McNicholas community are invited to gather in our school’s chapel throughout the day for Eucharistic Adoration.
The Dayton Contemporary Dance Company will perform Beyond 'The Caged Bird Sings’, a moving tribute to the legacy of Maya Angelou, the iconic author, poet, civil rights activist, and humanitarian. Students will gain insight into this extraordinary woman beyond her writings and learn about her literary impact in American history and cultural society.

Students are encouraged to experience the grace of the Sacrament of Reconciliation through their parishes, of course. In addition, a Day of Reconciliation will be coordinated by the Mission & Ministry Team and through Theology classes on Monday, March 11.
We will slightly modify the schedule to begin the day with prayer and reflection during CREW.

We will have a special schedules with early releases on Tuesday, March 12 and Wednesday, March 13 for important standardized testing for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. Students in these classes will have varying dismissal times; see details below. Seniors will have both days off to work on capstone projects, college planning, or Christian service.
- CLASS OF 2027 Freshmen will take the IOWA test in the morning on both days. This is in lieu of the state end-of-course exams and is required for graduation. They will begin at 7:40 a.m. and need to bring their fully-charged Tablet PC.
Students taking the IOWA with no accommodations will be released around 10:30 a.m. Students taking the IOWA with an accommodation of extended time will be released around 11:30 a.m. and are encouraged to a bring snack. Students taking the IOWA with a reader should pack a lunch as their release time is to be determined.
- CLASS OF 2026 On Tuesday, sophomores will report to the Bogenschutz Gym at 7:40 a.m. for a Leadership McNick session. They will be released at 11 a.m.
On Wednesday, sophomores will take the PSAT-10 to prepare for the SAT. Students’ scores on the PSAT-10 will determine if they are invited to take the PSAT/NMSQT their junior year to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship competition. They will begin at 7:40 a.m. and need to bring their fully-charged Tablet PC. They will be dismissed around 11 a.m.
- CLASS OF 2025 On Tuesday, all juniors will take the ACT, funded by the state of Ohio. These scores are reportable to colleges. The test does not include the writing section. They will begin at 7:40 a.m. Juniors with no accommodations will be dismissed around 11:30 a.m. Students taking the ACT with accommodations should pack a lunch as their release time is to be determined.
On Wednesday, juniors who are taking the ACT with accommodations will finish the ACT, if needed. All other juniors will report to the Bogenschutz Gym at 7:40 a.m. for a Leadership McNick session. They will be released at 11 a.m.

The McNicholas community will gather in the sanctuary at Guardian Angels on Tuesday, March 26 at 9:30 a.m. to pray the Stations of the Cross. All are welcome to join us for this sacred prayer journey.

All students enrolled at McNicholas are expected to apply for a state-funded scholarship for the 2024-25 school year.
- Use this EdChoice Scholarship Renewal Form if you received an EdChoice Scholarship for the 2023-24 school year. If your gross adjusted income is over 200%, you do not need to complete the income verification process, but you will need to show proof of residence.
- Use this EdChoice Scholarship Request Form if you did not receive an EdChoice Scholarship for the 2023-24 school year. You will need to complete the income verification process (for Expansion only, not Traditional) as well as show proof of residence.

Under the guidance of McNicholas theatre teacher and Broadway veteran, Mrs. Leslie Baum, this production promises an engaging and thought-provoking experience for audiences ages 13 and up. Athletics
Please join us for Meet the Coach Night beginning at 6 p.m. in the Cafe. The Athletic Department will share important information about philosophies, protocols, and events pertaining to the spring sports season. It is important that at least one parent of each athlete attend to hear this information. After the initial meeting, there will be a breakout session for your athlete’s sport where you will have the opportunity to meet your team’s coach.
The Athletic Department invites all winter athletes and their parents to the Winter Sports Awards Night on Tuesday, March 12 at 6 p.m. in the Bogenschutz Gym. We will recognize the accomplishments of our winter sports teams and student athletes and honor our senior athletes with a special thank you. Check with your athlete’s head coach to see if his or her program will be hosting a breakout session afterward.
