~Las Tradiciones y las Celebraciones~

Introduction:  ¡Feliz Navidad!   Have you ever wondered how people in other countries celebrate Christmas?  Do the Spanish-speaking countries celebrate Christmas?  Do they believe in Santa Claus? What are some of their customs and traditions associated with the holidays?

Task:  For this project you will discover the Christmas customs and traditions of Latin American countries and Spain.

Process:  Actividades: Las Costumbres de Cada Pais

The class will be divided into 5 groups.  Using the internet, your group will  research the Christmas traditions of the countries that pertain to your group.  Describe how Christmas is celebrated there.  Describe the traditions (music, food, decorations, and celebrations etc.)  Then write a 2 page report in English summarizing your groups findings.

Requirements:

·        Use search engines such as google.com to find information on your country.  Type in keywords to perform your search.

·        Print copies of your findings and attach them to your rough draft.

·        The rough draft Jot done information you would like to include in report.  Before typing your final draft, show me your rough draft.

·        Type 2 pages in English.  Use no larger than 14 font.  (1 inch margins).

·        Cover page: Decorate your cover page with X-mas clip art.  Include the countries researched on your cover, the names of your group members, the date, and class period

Conclusion: I hope you have enjoyed learning about Christmas in Spanish-speaking Countries.  Please be sure to conclude your report with your thoughts, reactions on the celebration.  Which customs did you  like the best?  Compare and contrast their traditions of Christmas with ours.
