Philosophy
An
understanding of science makes it possible for everyone to share in
the richness and excitement of comprehending the natural world.
Science strengthens the skills people use every day like
problem-solving, thinking critically, working cooperatively, using
technology effectively, and valuing life-long learning. Students
need to prepare to deal critically with rapidly changing ideas.
Catholic reverence for all forms and stages of life permeates each
course. Scientific literacy is vital to the quality of life of every
human being in the twenty-first century.
Scope
The
scope of instruction ranges from junior high concepts in life,
physical, and earth science to college level biology and physics.
