Mr. Dick Pfirman also judged.

  1. Three students represented McNicholas at the State Science Fair.  Jacob Boehm received a superior rating, and was awarded the Governor’s Award in Agriculture and 1st place in Veterinarian Medicine.  Katie Johnston received a superior rating. Megan Whitesel received two excellent ratings.  Congratulations to these students and their teachers, Ms. Amy Morsch and Ms. Debbie Bonekamp.  Mrs. Regina Goines judged the state fair.

  1. Many McNicholas students participated in other youth science opportunities throughout the year.

    1. Seniors Michael Cox and Meagan Leach attended a seminar for students interested in medicine at Children’s Hospital Medical Center on March 13, 2008.

    2. Junior Claire Stegman received the Michelson-Morley Award given

by Case Western Reserve  for outstanding science achievement through the end of her junior year.

    1. Junior Dan Rasfeld received the Bausch and Lomb Award given by     the University of Rochester for outstanding achievement in science through the end of his junior year.

    2. Junior Ian Anderson received the University of Rochester award for consistently high achievement in math and science throughout his three years at McNicholas.

    3. Junior Amanda Brown was selected as one of 86 high school students from across the country to participate in an Earthwatch Institute summer research team studying bison in Idaho.
