Modern & Classical Languages...
Philosophy
Communication is essential
to all true understanding and interaction among peoples. It is the
instrument that erodes prejudices and clarifies misconceptions. It
is the bridge between minds and the doorway to worlds rich in
cultural differences, economic opportunities, and human experience.
It is the great equalizer that erases the psychological barrier of
fear of the unknown and lays bare the true oneness of mankind. It
is through the study of foreign language that one not only grows in
knowledge and appreciation of the beauty and multi-facetness of
world societies, but grows acutely in awareness of the richness and
in the knowledge of one's own.
Mission Statement
The mission of the
Department of Modern and Classical Languages of McNicholas High
School is: One, to provide a period of intensive learning in a
stimulating, multicultural, collaborative, Christ-centered
environment, where a commitment to excellence in the full
realization of human potential is pursued, and Two, to prepare young
men and young women for leadership roles in an international Church,
in civic and social affiliations, in service to mankind, within the
sacred confines of family life.
