Mathematics Philosophy...

Archbishop McNicholas High School is a parochial Catholic school that provides a secondary education within a Christian community. In this context, the Mathematics Department recognizes that students are individuals, each bringing a different background, ability and need to the classroom.

The mathematics curriculum is designed to provide an environment which fosters the growth of the individual and his or her development in both the cognitive and affective domains.

The curriculum will not only target the computation and application skills but will also develop critical thinking skills, deductive and inductive reasoning and creative problem solving. The mathematics curriculum interfaces and supports other content areas providing students with the understanding the mathematics influences every occupation.
