Mathematics Faculty...
Mrs. Alicia Meyer
started teaching math at McNicholas High
School in 1989. She earned her BSEd is Social Studies at
Ohio State University and majored in Mathematics at the University of
Cincinnati. Mrs. Meyer has been a social worker, a vocational evaluation
and work adjustment counselor, a substitute teacher in three states, and a
full-time teacher at both Newark Senior High School and Live Oaks Joint
Vocational School. She was nominated for the Disney's American Teacher Awards
(2002) and Who's Who Among America's Teachers (1995 and 2002).Her course load is split between Honors Geometry, Geometry
B

Mrs. Mary
Honkonen
came to McNicholas High School in 1998 but is not new to the
profession. She has taught at St. Anne’s School and Huntington High
School both in the state of New York. She has also taught at Saluda
High School and Gilbert High School which are both in South
Carolina. In both 1980 and 1981 she was nominated for the South
Carolina Teacher of the Year Award. She is also a member of
“Who’s Who Among American Teachers.” Mrs. Honkonen received her
BS in Mathematics with a minor in Education from the University of
Charleston. Her classes
this year include Algebra 1A and Algebra 1B. Along with Mrs. Tyler she is a
moderator for the Mu Alpha Theta chapter at McNicholas High School.

Mr. Bill Losekamp
attended Xavier University and received his BS in Mathematics and
Theatre Arts in 1987 was well as his MEd in Educational
Administration in 1997. He came to
McNicholas
High School in 1997 after teaching for three years at Purcell Marian
High School. Prior to his career in education, Mr. Losekamp was an
account representative and territory manager for an office equipment
company. In 2007 Mr. Losekamp received The Greater Cincinnati
Math Teacher of the Year Award given by the collaboration of UC,
XU, and NKU. He has also been part Of Who Is Who Among High School
Teachers. His classes consist of one Precalculus, two Algebra 2AA,
and two Alg1c-2. Mr. Losekamp is one of the sophomore class advisors
and serves as head of the Mardi Gras committee, and is on the Kairos
Retreat
Board. He also serves as a member of Faculty Council. He can be

Ms. Judy Martin has
been a member of the Mathematics Department since 1994. Ms. Martin
received her BA in Mathematics from Edgecliff where she also minored in Physics
and French. She also studied at the University of Kentucky and earned her MA in
Mathematics Education. Ms. Martin has had a great deal of experience in the
profession, having taught at Bishop Brossart High School, Notre Dame Academy,
Thomas More College, and St. Charles Borromeo where she also served as the
principal. This year, she teaches Honors Precalculus, Precalculus and Geometry.
She is a Sophomore homeroom teacher, class co-moderator and
co-moderator of Life Club.

Mr. Dan Rosenbaum
attended Xavier University and earned his BS in
Mathematics and a minor in
Business in 1993 as well as his Secondary Education certificate in 1995.
Currently, Mr. Rosenbaum is the head coach for the cross country and track teams
and an assistant coach for the women's basketball team. Before coming to
McNicholas High School, he worked at Bob Roncker's Running Spot. Mr. Rosenbaum
teaches two sections of Honors Algebra 1, one section of Algebra 1A,

Mrs. Kathy Tyler
has been teaching at McNicholas High School
since 1997. She is also an adjunct math professor at U.C. and privately tutors
math. Her previous experience includes teaching five years at Central State
University, two years at Cincinnati State University, and a year at Purcell
Marian High School. Mrs. Tyler earned her BS in Mathematics, her MBA in Finance,
and her Secondary Education certificate from Xavier University. Prior to
teaching, she worked as an actuary, a financial negotiator, and a member of the
MENSA Executive Committee. Mrs. Tyler teaches AP Calculus, Algebra 2B and
Geometry A, as well as sponsoring the Math Honorary Society. She can be reached

Mr. Jack
Kaniecki attended Xavier University where he received his BS in
Mathematics as well as his Secondary Education Certificate. Before
joining McNicholas in 2007, he taught for three years in Stafford,
Virginia. Mr. Kaniecki teaches three Geometry B classes, two
Pre-College
Mathematics classes, and one Algebra 2A class. He can be reached the

Ms. Kendra Hornschemeier earned
her BBA in Accounting and Finance from Ohio University in 2005. She
is currently working towards a Master in Secondary Education at
Xavier University. Prior to teaching at McNicholas she was an
Investment Accountant and a substitute teacher. This is her third
year as the women's varsity soccer head coach. Ms. Hornschemeier
teaches two sections of Foundations of Mathematics and two sections
